Results of Manydown Club Championships Posted 21st Oct 2007
This year, the club championships was a close run match, with Ed Reis matching Adam Jory point for point through the ranges. Adam's higher V count won through beating Ed's 246.27 by only 5 Vs.

Adam's higher V count enabled him to also win the Bill Hanna long range trophy and the President's Chalice. The Handicap Plate was won by Ed Welford.
2007 Imperial Meeting Posted 1st Aug 2007
Due to adverse weather conditions, Manydown were unsucessful in their attempt at retaining the Astor for a third year in a row. However, I am pleased to report success in the Belgium, beating the second placed team by a clear four points (team: Nick Mace, Richard Birtwistle, Adam Jory and Ed Welford).

In the Queen's Final, Manydown were represented by Marcus O'Leary (29th), Adam Jory (82nd) and Nick Mace (76th).

In the St George's Final, Manydown were represented by Tim Green (17th), Adam Jory (84th) and Nick Mace (53rd).

Successes in the Grand Aggregate from Adam Jory (16th), Nick Mace (35th), Marcus O'Leary (25th), Ed Reis (74th).

Other successes by the club was Bruce Roth winning the TWP Sighters Aggregate, dropping only 2 sighters across the meeting.

Astor Retained and Victory in the Belgian Posted 11th Aug 2006
I am very pleaed to b able to report that Manydown have retained the Astor. OGRE were initialy declared winners, but they had fielded an illegal team with not enough 'O' class shooters, and were disqualified. Our team consisted of: Lucy Mace, Adam Jory, Tim Green, Ed Welford, Henry Watson and Eddie Brice. Excellent coaching as always by Nick Mace and Richard Birtwistle. In the concurrent matches, the Manydown 'Green' team of Nick Mace, Lucy Mace, Adam Jory and Ed Welford won the magnificent Belgian trophy and came second in the Rifle Clubs. Nick also won the Sighters aggregate, a trophy that Manydown members seem to hog, Lucy having won it in 2004, and Adam winning it last year. Tim Green came 3rd in the Georges final and 2nd in the Donaldson Agg. Mike Martel finished 3rd in the Clementi Smith. In the Queens Final, Lucy managed to make it throgh for the 1st time, and after getting a 75 at 900 yards was very much in the hunt at 1000 yards. Unfortunately it was not to be, but Nick nkept the Mace flag flying, finishing strongly to end up 11th. Ed Welford also made it through.
ASTOR VICTORY AND OTHER IMPERIAL MEETING SUCCESSES Posted 26th Jul 2005
Manydown pulled off a stunning victory in the Astor, dropping only 7 points between the team and finishing a clear 2 points ahead of 2nd placed Jersey. Scores were: Richard Birtwistle 105.16, Andy Burton 105.10, Adam Jory 104.17, Nick Mace 104.14, Ed Welford 103.10, and David Cooper 102.13. Much praise must also be put on the coaching team of Eddie Brice and Geoff Fudger. In the Imperial meeting, Adam won the Sighters Aggregate, came 2nd in the Short Range Agg, and 3rd in the Ghurka Appeal. Nick finished 2nd in the Donaldson Memorial Final, 3rd in the Shearwater Agg, and 10th in the Grand Aggregate. David Cooper came 3rd in the OTF Long Range Agg. We also were very well attended in the Queens Final, with no less than 5 Manydown regulars (Nick Mace, Adam Jory, Andy Burton, Ed Welford, and Ed Reis) on the same range! well done to Richard Birtwistle who also made the final, and for the first time. Andy Burton had a fantastic Bisley, and on top of reaching the Queens Final, came 7th in the Georges final. It is interesting to note that all members of the Astor team reached Queens 2, and all but one reached the final. Our only problem with all these successes is the lack of O and T classs members in the club. The Astor will be very hard to defend next year! My final word is to Geoff, who has decided to retire from shooting, although thankfully is more than happy to continue coaching. Geoff has been a fantastic supporter of Manydown for many years, and it will be very hard to fill the gap that his retirement will inevitably bring.
