| Imperial Meeting 2008 success! | Posted 28th Jul 2008 |
| Manydown completed the extraordinary feat of winning all four of the club concurrent competitions during the Imperial Meeting. The four team members of 'Manydown Green' were Nick and Lucy Mace, Ed Welford, and Adam Jory. Individual successes also featured prominantly, with Nick Mace leading the Grand Aggregate for much of the week, piped at the post at the last moment to finish an amazing second. Ed Captained the Great Britain Under 25 team, and Lucy was part of this year's victorious England team in the National match. The trophies in the photograph include the four team competitions (Bank of England, Belgian, Rifle Clubs, and Steward), as well as various individual competitions won by Nick (Goble, Elkington, Clementi Smith), and Lucy (Lord Tedder). Well done to all! |

| This year, the club championships was a close run match, with Ed Reis matching Adam Jory point for point through the ranges. Adam's higher V count won through beating Ed's 246.27 by only 5 Vs. Adam's higher V count enabled him to also win the Bill Hanna long range trophy and the President's Chalice. The Handicap Plate was won by Ed Welford. |

| Due to adverse weather conditions, Manydown were unsucessful in their attempt at retaining the Astor for a third year in a row. However, I am pleased to report success in the Belgium, beating the second placed team by a clear four points (team: Nick Mace, Richard Birtwistle, Adam Jory and Ed Welford). In the Queen's Final, Manydown were represented by Marcus O'Leary (29th), Adam Jory (82nd) and Nick Mace (76th). In the St George's Final, Manydown were represented by Tim Green (17th), Adam Jory (84th) and Nick Mace (53rd). Successes in the Grand Aggregate from Adam Jory (16th), Nick Mace (35th), Marcus O'Leary (25th), Ed Reis (74th). Other successes by the club was Bruce Roth winning the TWP Sighters Aggregate, dropping only 2 sighters across the meeting. |

| Astor Retained and Victory in the Belgian | Posted 11th Aug 2006 |
| I am very pleaed to b able to report that Manydown have retained the Astor. OGRE were initialy declared winners, but they had fielded an illegal team with not enough 'O' class shooters, and were disqualified. Our team consisted of: Lucy Mace, Adam Jory, Tim Green, Ed Welford, Henry Watson and Eddie Brice. Excellent coaching as always by Nick Mace and Richard Birtwistle. In the concurrent matches, the Manydown 'Green' team of Nick Mace, Lucy Mace, Adam Jory and Ed Welford won the magnificent Belgian trophy and came second in the Rifle Clubs. Nick also won the Sighters aggregate, a trophy that Manydown members seem to hog, Lucy having won it in 2004, and Adam winning it last year. Tim Green came 3rd in the Georges final and 2nd in the Donaldson Agg. Mike Martel finished 3rd in the Clementi Smith. In the Queens Final, Lucy managed to make it throgh for the 1st time, and after getting a 75 at 900 yards was very much in the hunt at 1000 yards. Unfortunately it was not to be, but Nick nkept the Mace flag flying, finishing strongly to end up 11th. Ed Welford also made it through. | |
